"Design Phase" Deliverables (Conceptual Model)
In an online course, conceptual model will be discussed in a video.
You will need to watch the video and based on the conceptual model to create corresponding logical and physical data model
In an in-person course, creating Conceptual Models will always take place in class after you have been introduced
to the next iteration of your SCA project. You will be given instructions in class.
- Be sure your team name and team names of each team member present* appear on each diagram.
*Team members who are not present in class are not eligible to receive the Conceptual Model points.
"Design Phase" Deliverables (Logical Model and/or Physical Design)
For each required Model (.vsdx) or Design (.mwb) submit the electronic file to Canvas.
Be sure your team name and team members' names appear on each diagram.
- Be sure your team name and team members' names appear on each diagram.
- If possible, organize the relevant relationships and entities/tables so
that they appear on just one page when printed.
"Implementation Phase" Deliverables
- DATABASE changes: Most of your "implementation" deliverables will be changes
that you make to your SCA team database. It is not necessary to submit
these changes to Canvas. Your instructors will examine your database
directly through SQL Server Management Studio.
- CANVAS Submissions:
You may need to submit other files, e.g. ...
- Team Work Record (... an Excel workbook) are required for every
Implementation phase.
- Word documents (e.g. a Word document for Lab 1 and Lab 7)
- Scripts (.sql files) are files that contain SQL code.
In some labs you may be asked to submit SQL code in a script
as part of your deliverables.
In other labs you may not be
able to submit a View, Stored Procedure, Trigger or
other object because of errors in your SQL code. Submitting
a script may be the only way to get partial credit and
feedback from the instructor.
(This can occur with Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers
and other objects.)
