Professor Chris Sandvig MBA 597 - Introduction to Web Development Management Spring 2005

Project

The purpose of the project is to integrate the tools that we have covered in the course, including HTML, CSS, PhotoShop, VBScript, ASP and databases. A secondary objective is to provide you with an impressive item to add to your on-line portfolio, should you choose to build one.

The "standard" project will be to build part of an on-line bookstore. If you have other ideas for a project please discuss them with me. I am open to other project ideas, as long as them satisfy the criteria described above.

Instructions for building the first part of the bookstore are located under "Assignment 8."  You may also add a shopping cart (instructions) and checkout process (instructions).

Grading will be based upon the quality and quantity of work done. Completing the first three pages of the site (as described under assignment 8) will be a project grade of approximately a B.  Additional credit will be given for a shopping cart, checkout process, graphic upgrades, appropriate use of style sheets, and other extras. See the MIS 314 project instructions for other project enhancement ideas.
