Current Index: 10.3
Legend: < 5 dry conditions, 5-15 typical muddy conditions, > 15 hardcore mud
The Galbraith mud index is more accurate for graph plots of one month or more.
It is based upon a dubious mathematical equation that
incorporates the relationship between precipitation, temperature, time and the absorption
properties of Galbraith mountain mud.
Galbraith Mountain is located east of Bellingham on Lookout Mountain
(directions)
and is famous for its world-class mountain biking. During the rainy
months (November - May) it is reported to have more mud than the entire country of Australia.
