Internet Studies Certificate Program

WWU's I nternet Studies Center allows students enrolled in any WWU's bachelor degree program to earn a certificate in web site development. Professor Sandvig teaches three of the six courses in the ISC's web site manager track. This track focuses on the development and management of e-business and other data-driven web applications using server-side programming. Graduates who have completed the web manager track have become web designers and programmers for a wide variety of large and small companies.

The six course in the web manager track:

MIS 314 - Fundamentals of Web Development Management	Server-side programming with PHP & mySQL, database design, SQL, security, usability.
MIS 324 - Intermediate Web Development Management	ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, object-oriented programming, databases, security, regular expressions, Visual Studio.
MIS 424 - E-commerce Systems Management	E-commerce concepts, web services, AJAX, data structures, on-line payment, security, SSL, search engine optimization, SQL Server.
CS 403 - Practicum in Net Resource Management	Web development project for a company or non-profit organization.
